Creed

Genre: Rock

It all began back in 1995. Three men, Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, and Scott Phillips came together to create a band that would end up becoming one of the top Rock bands of the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries. Their first album, My Own Prison, released in 1998, was an incredible hit, eventually going triple platinum. Their next release, Human Clay, did even better, going on to sell over 10 million copies. Creed was here, and they were here to stay.

From their first release, My Own Prison, in 1997, this is what Creed.com had to say: "Creed was the first band in history to have four #1 Rock Radio singles from a debut album. On the strength of their singles, including the crushing title track and the more pensive 'What's This Life For,' Creed topped countless year-end charts and was recognized as the Rock Artist of the Year at Billboard's 1998 Music Awards..."

It's hard to argue with Success. Human Clay, released in 1999, would go on to become a 10 time platinum CD, giving such hits as "Higher," "What If," and "With Arms Wide Open" (which Stapp has since gone to create a foundation made to help underprivileged children, which can be seen at: http://www.witharmswideopen.org/default.cfm.

In 2000, Creed continued to win a number of prestigious awards including the following: two awards at the Radio Music Awards, four awards at the My VH1 Awards, as well as receiving the award for Rock Artist of the Year, for the third year in a row, at the Billboard Awards in December.

In 2001, Creed did it all again. With the release of Weathered, the bands most "...diverse, dynamic record we have written to date.," according to Stapp, the band hit new heights. From the hit single "My Sacrifice" to the edgy "Bullets" and onward to the ponderous "One Last Breath," Creed has managed, once again, to give us such awesome music. With such great lyrics and melodies, but also with such thought and feeling, their songs let us, through every listen through one of their CD's, take a journey unto itself. "Creed is one of the few bands today able to mesh classic rock with hard hitting modern sounds to create emotional music that will surely stand the test of time." http://www.starpulse.com.
