This is not your run of the mill classical music. This is Bond. This is the group that is known as the classical version of the Spice Girls. They are spunky, energetic and they just "have it". Thr Bond group members are (along with what instrument they play): Haylie Ecker-First Violin, Eos-Second Violin, Tania Davis-Viola and Gay-Yee Westerhoff-Cello. This quartet has re-vamped the classical world with a bit of sounds you normally would not hear.
The girls all come from a high background with music. Haylie is a holder of a first-class honors degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has played all over the world as a soloist. Now with Bond she continues her music career. Eos has a degree from the Royal College of Music and has played in front of several Heads of State, including the Queen and former Prime Ministers of Australia and Ireland. Tania holds a first-class Bachelor of Music honors degree from the Sydney Conservatorium, and had a postgraduate diploma in performance with distintion from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Gay-Yee, the oldest, attended the Trinity College of Music in London. Eos and Gay-Yee have also played with pop artists and other acts. So none of the girls are shy to stage and audiences.
Where might have you heard the quartet play?!? The newer movies of James Bond and a few commercials have come up along the way with classical music. And guess who are playing...that is right, Bond. One of the group’s aims is to help demolish some of the stringent barriers between musical styles and with their virtuoso playing, great looks and rock-style performances, they are fast becoming regular fixtures on TV throughout the world.
Their website has a bunch of stuff to go through. The site makes you want to come back and keeps you looking for more. Anywhere from having desktop stuff to having your own Bond girl to keep you company on the computer! You can even get a new "Spy Name" with a generator they have on the site. So I spent a good hour or so just playing around on it.
