Beyonce Knowles, from Houston Texas, started out as a seven year old girl who was audtioning for a children's group. While auditioning she met LaTavia Roberson, together with Beyonce's cousin Kelly Rowland they formed a group, which was later joined by LeToya Luckett. Little did they know that their group, called Destiny's Child, would become a huge success. Producing three albums, one self titled album, The Writing on the Walls, and Survivor all saw much success. Prior to Survivor, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett left the group, took Destiny's Child to court, and were replaced by Michelle Williams, and Farrah Franklin, the latter leaving after five months.

Beyonce soon decided to star on MTV's Carmen and also starred in the hit film with Mike Meyers, Austin Powers in Goldmember. She played a retro character named Foxy Cleopatra.

In June of 2003, Beyonce released her debut solo album titled Dangerously In Love which features hit singles such as Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, which features Sean Paul, and Me, Myself, and I. Though the album is different than the three albums that Knowles and the rest of Destiny's Child have, she is still a part of the group, and plans on touring with them. "We all decided a long time back to explore solo projects and I'm the third member of the group to release my own record. Things like working apart keep the fire going and keep the fans eager for you. I'm not trying to get away from DC or the legacy we have. I just wanted to show a different approach and the growth I've experienced." She says. The group did record a single for the movie The Fighting Temptations which Knowles co-starred with Cuba Gooding Jr. Beyonce is currently working on two more features and is also seen on several Pepsi commercials. She is also a spokesperson for L'Oreal.
